"We live in a wonderful world that is full of beauty, charm and adventure.
There is no end to the adventures we can have if only we seek them with our eyes open..." --- Jawaharal Nehru

Lucky.

I have been plagued with the summer time cold.
My least favourite kind of cold.
Because of this, I am working from home today.
Yep, fuzzy slippers, kleenex, green tea, tylenol, and soup.
The whole deal.

Currently, I am on my lunch break.
As I was sitting here feeling sorry for myself, and grumbling about my sick state - I thought about how, in reality, I am crazy-lucky. I have a job. My boss is kind enough to allow me to work from home on days like this. I have a home!! I am in my pajamas. I have soup to make me feel better, warm blankets, and medication.

What am I complaining about?
I received the following in e-mail form a little while ago, but it stuck with me.

Something to ponder...
If you woke up this morning with more health than illness...you are more blessed than the million who will not survive this week.

If you have never experienced the danger of battle, the loneliness of imprisonment, the agony of torture, or the pangs of starvation ...you are ahead of 500 million people in the world

If you can attend a church meeting without fear of harassment, arrest, torture, or death...you are more blessed than three billion people in the world.
If you have food in the refrigerator, clothes on your back, a roof overhead and a place to sleep...you are richer than 75% of this world.

If you have money in the bank, in your wallet, and spare change in a dish someplace ... you are among the top 8% of the world's wealthy.

If your parents are still alive and still married ... you are very rare, even in the United States and Canada.

If you can read this message, you just received a double blessing in that someone was thinking of you, and furthermore, you are more blessed than over two billion people in the world that cannot read at all.

I am a really, really lucky girl. Sometimes I forget that and get caught up in the sniffles, sore throats and pounding headaches...but if that is all that is going to bring down my day? I should be spending the rest of it blowing my nose with a smile on my face.

Special Project.

I have been thinking about this awesome (crazy) idea for about 2 months now...an idea for a special project that will begin in July of next year. After consulting some close friends & my Pops, and receiving their full support, I have decided that I am going to give it a go!

If you have been a loyal reader (hah) of Backpack with Becky, you will know that I am on a constant hunt for 'Happy Trails & Travels'. I have an adventurous spirit that needs to be fed, and I am in the prime time of my life. The thing is, I don't want to just travel (in this case)...I see an opportunity for something more. I think I am going to give it a try.

Time for me to quit dreaming about it...I have to do it!!

I can't share the major details just yet, because I want to be pretty concrete before I go 'public' (...this sounds like a scandal? I assure you, it is not).

Hints:
- I will not be leaving the country
- I will travel many, many km's
- I will (ideally) create postive change

Details to follow...one day...soon-ish?

Send me a note if you have any questions...

Much love!

Landscape.

incredible.
I am a big fan of beautiful pictures.
I used to dream of being a photographer, but I do not have a good eye (not even close). My brother, on the other hand, has an incredible eye. Jerk. Hah!

I am consistently drawn to landscape photography...it makes me want to see the world and discover the beautiful places portrayed myself.

David Beatson is a photographer in the UK, and he has taken some awe-inspiring photos of Scotland. Check them out!

Can you believe that there are places in this world that are that magical?

B-e-autiful!
