Moon River.

Moon river, wider than a mile,
i'll be crossing you in style, some day
Oh dream maker, you heart breaker
whereever you're going, i'm going your way

Two drifters off to see the world,
there's such a lot of world to see
We're after the same rainbow's end, it's just around the bend,
my huckleberry friend, moon river and me

Home.

I can't believe the (long) weekend has already come to an end. I feel like it never even happened. It was just a whirwind of lots of food, lots of people, and lots of laughter.

As I sit here in my hideously bright pink bedroom in Oakville (note to 15 year-old self: you have horrible taste in paint colour. hah!), I can't help but feel a little ..... silly? emotional? happy? sad? I just can't believe all the years I spent in this room - my whole life, really! There are a million memories that coat these walls - from playing candyland 'war', having a snowfight, giggling about crushes, late night phonecalls to friends, crying about heartbreak, belting out loud tunes, first date jitters - it's all in here. My history lies within this room.

Even though I am not living here anymore, sometimes it is super nice to come home and sleep in the bed that has always been mine and smile about all the good times that have made me into the person I am today.

I guess this post really is about being thankful, seeing as it is Thanksgiving and all.
I AM very thankful for all those (mostly) great memories, my supportive parents, my adorable grandparents, my loving and hilarious friends, and for whatever it is that is coming my way. I have this overwhelming sense that this life of mine is going to be a great one - twists and turns, ups and downs - but as I continue to grow and become more clear about who I am, who I want to be, and what I want to do - I am positive that no matter what is thrown my way, I will make it work. I hope.

Ahh, home. It always makes everything so very clear.

Happy trails & travels & Thanksgiving, of course!

Sun Chips.

Okay, I need to rant.

I do not claim to be a super GREEN person by any means. I make some effort, but I know I could be better.

However, I came across THIS article today via the Toronto Star. Frito-Lay, the maker of Sun Chips launched a 'green bag' initiative in April of 2009, and made the decision to make all of their chip bags biodegradable and recyclable. I remember when I first saw these new-fangled bags in stores, I was thrilled! In fact, I purposely made a Sun Chip purchase because I was so excited about their efforts. I remember standing in line with my Harvest Cheddar Sun Chips in hand thinking that this was the future of the chip bag.

So many months later - today - I am reading the newspaper only to discover that they are no longer going to be using their biodegradable bags (other than for one flavour) due to one too many customer complaints. Complaints, you ask? The NOISE of the chip bag. Yes, I absolutely agree that the new bag of chips were hilariously loud....but really?

REALLY?!

I am baffled that in this day and age consumers are THAT concerned about the noise of their chip bag....SO concerned that they force the company to go back to using unsustainable materials.

Is this a joke?

Doesn't anyone have priorities anymore?

I am seriously confused by this. It concerns me.

Oy vay!

Happy trails & travels,
